Songs and Lyrics:
My All time Favorite band is the Cure.
For me they have outlasted every trend and remained new.
I did a swing'n cover of one of the best songs ever made...
I consolidated the keyboard parts to just guitar, and gave it a very danceable drum part. I hope you like it.

My cover of "Ethyl My Love" by the Muffs!
Kim Shattuck is one of my all time favorite Rock & Roll singers. (And song writers)
I can't sing like her... in fact, no one can sing like her, but I hope you like my version of one of their coolest songs.
For about three years when I was teenager, I listened to a lot of metal. Some of it was better than others... I always loved the way Anthrax, (Considered Thrash Metal at the time) had their own way of doing things.... and they brought comic books, political commentary, and comedy together in a time when that was not common at all. This is my cover of "Antisocial" by Anthrax. It's fun... trust me.
...it was a cover for them too, originally, by a French band called Trust in 1980.
My cover of "Salt Point"
2005 by "Buddy" Humberston
This was the first of my experimental covers to mix genres and challenge myself as a guitar player, singer, and song writer.. Buddy is one of my favorite song writers. I listen to lots of different music, but when I play... I just want to play Rockabilly or swing style songs.... so I'm searching for a sound that features what I like to hear and what I like to do. Tricky. Wish me luck. :)
After visiting the UK, and getting to go into cavern club in Liverpool, I decided to learn a Beatles song. I chose Blackbird and it is a tricky little song to play! When I got back home, I covered it with a swing drumbeat and some wilder guitar parts... after all, The Beatles loved rockabilly and Jazz.
As always... I hope you like it.
Here is a link to my version of Blackbird by the Beatles.
My Cover of We want The Airwaves by the Ramones
This is probably one the best Rock and Roll songs ever written, and I have covered it with a swing'n rockabilly influence. Crank it up and rock out. I hope you like it!
Spider-Man, (Cartoon Theme - 1967 RCA)
by Paul Francis Webster and Robert "Bob" Harris.
Recorded by Robert Russell in 2019
with a swing'n rockabilly style!
Lyrics:
Spider-man, Spider-man. Does whatever a spider can
Spins a web, any size. Catches thieves, just like flies
Look out! Here comes the Spider-man.
(Well) Is he strong? (Now) Listen, Bud! He's got (The) radioactive blood.
Can he swing now from a thread? Take a look (right/Honey) over (your) head.
Hey there, there goes the Spider-man!
In the chill of night, At the scene of the crime,
Like a streak of light, He arrives just in time
Spider-man, Spider-man. Friendly neighborhood Spider-man
Wealth and fame, he ignores. Action is his reward
To him, life is a great big bang-up. Wherever there's a hang-up
You'll find the Spider-man! Swing!
This is my cover of the Siouxsie and the Banshees song, "Are You Still Dying Darling"
It was a rare B-side of Killing Jar in 1988, but appeared just a few years ago in a box set. It's a dark song with a great sense of humor. Siouxsie Siuox rules, and I hope I make her proud with my little version of it. (If she ever hears it) ...She is the queen of cool. Special thanks to the super cool Cello player Emily Elkin, who came into the studio and played that beautiful part. The cello really made things sound much heavier and cinematic.
...This is not really a video, as much as it just the cover art with a bunch of fun or even silly effects over the top of it... but it's better than just a still image. :)
